The library of the Abegg-Stiftung collects literature on art and art history from Antiquity to the early nineteenth century. While the main focus of its collection is on textiles, the applied arts generally as well as painting, sculpture, architecture, history and archaeology are also covered. Another important field is that of conservation and restoration, again primarily in relation to textiles.
The Abegg-Stiftung reference library is at the disposal of all those interested during the opening hours shown below. The online catalogue allows users to search some 75,000 media. You may consult them in our reading room. Current and back issues of some 200 periodicals can be viewed, and the electronic resources of Bern University of Applied Sciences (FH) accessed as required.
